Carl first envisioned Pumpkin Nursery after his first daughter started eating her vegetables. As his ‘pumpkin’, helping his daughter and family eat healthy and nutritious meals as often as possible became a priority in Carl’s life. An avid gardener, Carl started with a small vegetable patch behind his home and grew his family’s own produce rather than buying store-bought produce. Eventually, gifts to friends and neighbors became an incentive to start his own nursery for his community to share his love of locally grown produce.

Ideal Audience Personas

Sophie

Sophie just came to town for a new job and has been looking for new ways to get connected in the community. She’s always been a bit of a green thumb and has a few plants, both at her home and at her office, ranging from cacti to ferns. She learned from her coworkers about the Pumpkin Nursery and thought that she’d at least be able to start growing some herbs or spices at home if she couldn’t handle a full crop. She hopes staying connected to like-minded plant growers will provide her with a community to come back to and stay connected with.

Ray

Ray is a proud grandpa to a handful of grandchildren and rounds them all up to help him tend to his garden in his backyard. It’s his way to connect with his grandchildren. When the produce is ripe and ready to pick, he gathers everything and has the grandkids and his children together for a family meal to celebrate all their hard work. Ray needs a knowledgeable supplier to help him find the right seeds and tools to manage his gardens year-round, better yet if they come supplied with recipes!
