Small businesses have been hit and rolled with the punches throughout the past year. It hasn’t always been triumphant or victorious, but they’ve continued.
I started 2020 with a few different small business goals that I wanted to achieve, with various levels of success. So, I decided to follow tradition and make another list of small business goal ideas that I wanted to accomplish throughout the new year in 2021.

2020 has been troublesome for many, and we didn’t even start most of our goals. It seemed like a game of hot potato as we juggled responsibilities with our dreams.
At the end of last year, I set a few goals I wanted to tackle regarding my small business. I was able to address them all this year (amazingly), but I am not finished with any of them by any means. I started my graphic design freelance business in late 2019. I knew about many of the resources I would need to reach my goals but didn’t have the means to invest in them like I wanted to at the start. As I got more clients and customers, I grew my investment resources.

Why I chose not to focus on all of the social media platforms for my business
When I first started my business, I tried to maintain accounts on all social media platforms. I quickly realized I wasn’t cut out to maintain 5 different social media accounts on different platforms.
So, I did the next best thing. I downsized.
Instead of maintaining 5 different social media accounts, I focused on 2-3 accounts.
Soft skills are highly desired in today’s professional industries.
Many work environments look for hard and technically learned skill sets but soft skills tend to hold more power over positions. It’s important to know hard skills, like Adobe Creative Suite or book-keeping software, but your soft skills show how you work with others, whether that be a client or a coworker.
